Fat-fat-fat

To lose your fat resource, you have to use the fat as a source of energy. You can achieve this if the amount of calories you take in is less than the calories burned for energy. Your system will cover the consequent excess need of energy from the fat, if you do fat burning exercises. But if you don't exercise, and just go without food, then your muscles will decrease, wither, and disappear.

The fat producing ability of the body is almost unlimited. More than needed nutrition will store as fat besides causing a slow metabolism. So the reason behind fatness is that more nutrition and more calories enter the body than it is able to burn. The system can store 5 kg fat in a year, but in many cases it takes only a few months!

The 2 concepts are not the same. Overweight is the case when the weight of the bones and the muscles does not meet normal measures. A bodybuilder having huge muscles, or a heavy-limbed person may have heavy weight compared to their height. Fatness when overweight is composed of excess amounts of fat. Therefore, fatness is defined by the body's fat content. Fatness is defined when the body's fat percentage is over 20% for men and over 25% for women.

Measuring the weight of fat can be done with automatic electronic equipment, but you can use the BMI formula easily as well. The value of weight-index (BMI = Body Mass Index) shows your actual physique: underweight, normal or overweight. In the case of a very muscular bodybuilder or a person with dense bone structure, this value is not relevant, but for most people it serves as important information. You can calculate the weight-index by dividing your weight (in kilograms) with the square range of your height (in metres). In my case it equals: 85kg / (1.86cm X 1.86cm) = 24,5. On the basis of this you can calculate your own BMI: ____ kg...

The yo-yo effect explained Many people start playing sports or doing regular exercise because of their weight. A lot of them try to eat as little as possible (or nothing at all) when starting regular training, saying that first they want to lose excess fat. But they realise within a short time that the effect is just the opposite: after a drastic diet their scales show they are heavier. This is very discouraging! The reason for that is our system's surviving mechanism. If consumption is reduced, the system switches over to energy saving. Judging from internal signs, your body's system draws the conclusion that it will get less...

There is no point in reducing the calorie intake drastically from many points of view: - Because of the defensive mechanism of the system you instead lose muscles and minerals, but no fat. - The muscle to fat ratio changes, and the metabolism slows, furthermore after starvation one begins adding fat more quickly than before. - Not eating properly gives your body a hard time, and the lack of basic nutrients has a negative effect on the whole body. - You will not have enough energy for regular sports, so dieters become less enthusiastic and have less energy for active exercises. - A poor diet leads to listlessness that could last...
